[most newcomers to the realm of Luceti would be more concerned or focused on trying to leave this place or find answers. not to say that this certain resident hadn't checked out everything there was about this place after shortly arriving. he'd learned to leave those little wings on his back alone too after trying to give them a little tug and smarting more than he expected. but sometimes there was just some things that a man had to take care of that just couldn't wait. and what was that, someone might ask?]

[having set his journal down in front of him, a newcomer didn't quite anticipate that the video portion would be on at this point when he set it down. must have been a slip of the finger. but slowly but surely...]

[the fridge on the floor Goku's on in his apartment may or may not look a little...ahem...barren. sorry. excluding what he picked up on the way back. patting his stomach and wiping his mouth, he reaches for the journal now and looks into it. oh, it was on? he's not that technologically dumb thanks to the Briefs family, so he knows the video's on. but he didn't quite figure out that it recorded his entire dining escapade either]

Right... Now that I can think straight,

I'm supposed to be able to use this thing to talk to other people here, right? Guess that means I wasn't the only one taken away... I can't sense anyone's energy back home. Instant Transmission doesn't work either.

[he's not weirded out by this concept either. nope. totally normal]

Well before I make my next move, I should get the facts straight and find out if everything I've seen and been told is real or not.

Well at least there's a bunch of able people here in Luceti so far. My name is Goku. What's yours?

To be honest, a lot more compared to what I can do when I'm alive. See, when you're dead, there's a lot less strain on your body when fighting, so getting stronger or keeping your stamina up is a lot easier.

If I can't get out of here anytime soon, I can at least challenge myself against some other strong people here.

Well, Shifting is something done here, in Luceti. There are three different kinds: Natural, which is just a part of this world, Synthesized or artificial, like the barrier here, and Progressive. These are used by the Third Party.

The barrier's Shift is meant to keep us in, and the dangerous natural shifts of the planet as well as the Third Party out. The Malnosso use synthesized shifting as well. They alter things in the enclosure with it. If you blow up a house, it'll reform in a few hours, they shift in food and supplies to us, and they use it for their experiments. Where they change us or...do things to us.

[For the first time, her demeanor cracks and her expression ends up somewhere between anger and sadness. She's furious that they've done this to her, and people here. But she's equally sad, because of the oftentimes painful shifts.]

[He's listening, and yeah. There's a bunch of really great people here, who are strong too.

But ping ping ping! Sparring!]

Are you kidding? We've definitely gotta spar! It'll be fun!

Vegeta. [he's serious now. you better be ready for this seriousness] I was here once before from a different time, right?

No. I barely saw you at all, in fact. We didn't even so much as fight each other save when I demolished the front of the house one day trying to get at you.

..............I know what you're trying to get at Kakarot, and you can forget it. I won't perform that ridiculous looking dance again, I've done it far too many times to count now and it's humiliating.

[he absorbs this information as best as he can. he'll have to either ask again later or even write this down. Shifting was a magic of this world...and there were three different styles of it. Goku couldn't get ahead of himself, but he wasn't going to forget this concept any time soon. when he notices that Saori's expression has faltered, he hesitates for a moment or two...]

[that was when the God would feel a firm hand upon her shoulder and a confident smile from the Saiyan warrior. what he's about to say is without a single shred of doubt in his heart and mind. even if he couldn't do it now...or if it took a long time... this place needed some hope]

If this isn't going to work, I'll just have to learn how to Shift. Even if it takes me a long time, if that's the way we can save everyone from this place, I'll do it.

Ahahah, wow. Quick on a draw there, Vegeta. But hey, even if we don't fuse, I just mean we can try and attack the barrier together!

Something's gotta give, and I doubt these guys have ever dealt with two of the mightiest Saiyans alive.

I don't know Kakarot, that blasted barrier is easily the toughest thing I've come across. Not a single scratch from my own attempts. It's infuriating that something like that even exists.

[He's pretty proud of how Goku phrased it though. They were the most powerful beings in the universe, after all.]

Well I only tried it earlier with Saori as a Super Saiyan. But I'll bet with our combined strength, even if we don't break through, we could do some damage! It's better than taking things lying down. And if we even so much as make one crack in the thing before it reforms, we're getting somewhere.

What do you say, Vegeta? Want to give it a shot sometime?

[it's Vegeta. ego stroking = progress with him]

[He doesn't know. He's got doubts, of course. Many have tried and failed.]

...Fine. But don't be surprised when it doesn't work.

Let's just say I know him well enough to know that Grumpyface might think you're a bit too kind. [He grinned.] Personally, it's nice to finally meet someone who can think a bit on this for what it is-- a mess that runs deeper than it looks.

Hahah, that sounds like Vegeta alright. Well no matter how deep it is, I'm gonna get to the bottom of it.

You and me and everyone else in this place. Tons have their own ideas on things, but I'm not gonna be so hasty.

The bad guy will reveal himself, somehow. I figure we'll know it when we see it.
