001; [Accidental Video & Action] • Action In CH #4 - Floor 3 Kitchen

[most newcomers to the realm of Luceti would be more concerned or focused on trying to leave this place or find answers. not to say that this certain resident hadn't checked out everything there was about this place after shortly arriving. he'd learned to leave those little wings on his back alone too after trying to give them a little tug and smarting more than he expected. but sometimes there was just some things that a man had to take care of that just couldn't wait. and what was that, someone might ask?]

[having set his journal down in front of him, a newcomer didn't quite anticipate that the video portion would be on at this point when he set it down. must have been a slip of the finger. but slowly but surely...]

[the fridge on the floor Goku's on in his apartment may or may not look a little...ahem...barren. sorry. excluding what he picked up on the way back. patting his stomach and wiping his mouth, he reaches for the journal now and looks into it. oh, it was on? he's not that technologically dumb thanks to the Briefs family, so he knows the video's on. but he didn't quite figure out that it recorded his entire dining escapade either]

Right... Now that I can think straight,

I'm supposed to be able to use this thing to talk to other people here, right? Guess that means I wasn't the only one taken away... I can't sense anyone's energy back home. Instant Transmission doesn't work either.

Uh, hey, you guys can see me, right? In the book?

[he's not weirded out by this concept either. nope. totally normal]

Well before I make my next move, I should get the facts straight and find out if everything I've seen and been told is real or not.

Sure! If it'll help me push the limits this place put on me, it's worth a try. If Anima is anything like ki, I'll appreciate the boost.

[on that remark, Goku slowly begins to float backwards, gaining some distance between himself and the barrier. Vegeta couldn't do it... there were others that were extremely powerful here and they failed too. so why? why did Son Goku insist on trying even though many others before him couldn't do it?]

Yes, that would be most beneficial to both. I assume by your attire you are a martial artist?

[this was more than just trying to take down the barrier. he didn't have to say anything about his intentions when his actions would speak far louder. what was he telling the ones that bound him here? to the people that sent children off to die in battle in pointless strifes... to his future enemies. what did he hope to accomplish by failing to take the barrier down?]

[Goku's body was almost immediately enveloped by a brilliant golden light, hair standing on end as a focused golden aura flared around him. the message was clear- Luceti had a true fighter on their hands. someone who would never give up. he would get stronger and break the limits placed on him, and in the end, surpass himself. it wasn't about beating this place. it was conquering himself. his hair followed suit, gravity-defying blond spikes completing the transformation. if Saori was familiar with Vegeta, no doubt she must have known that the man before her was a Super Saiyan; one of the first in almost a thousand years]

Ready, Saori?

Me? Yeah! This is the uniform of the Turtle School. But I've had a lot of teachers in my life.

What about you? Are you a martial artist? [don't ask him why he also assumed such. maybe it's the feeling this man gives off. or it's the epic sideburns and beard]

[The change in the Saiyans was always interesting, at the very least. The ridiculous alterations to their hair aside, the importance Vegeta had placed on the transformation was almost religious and that was something easy to relate to. There was a sense of reverence and a palpable pressure around Vegeta, and Goku too, that was simply unmistakable.

Her hands flick in a series of complex gestures, and around her feet a semi-solid corona of power takes shape. Her Anima isn't really all that different from Ki, and it's something she and Bulla had practiced sharing. The lending and borrowing of the inner life-energy wasn't something that occurred to Saori before, but after experimenting she and the girl had managed to figure out how to do it. So, that corona shimmers and flows towards Goku, merging with his aura and suffusing it with sparks of blue white lightning...]

Done.

You'd better not be eatin' all my ramen!

[Because that was a lot of food you just consumed. He didn't see what it was but it was in a bowl and there were chopsticks and-

Yeah the ramen in the grocery shop thingy is his, okay!]

Aah. So you know Vegeta too? [Cliff smiled. But there was something about the way that Goku said it...]

I dunno what this planet does or why. For all we know it might just want us to be it's toys, and the Shifts are how it plays with it. Bringing us here is one of those, I think. And not all of us come from the same place.

I take it you know Vegeta from home?

[Ah, timelines. Even knowing that people can come in from different times, it's still hard to tell sometimes. Especially with someone like Goku, who doesn't obviously age.]

Bulma is my mother. I'm Bulla...but I guess I haven't been born in your time yet, huh?

[it was amusing the way that Goku and Vegeta's reverence of the Super Saiyan differed. he understood the importance of it, but he didn't ascend to this level out of a need to realize the legend, but because his pure heart was critically wounded by Frieza. the pain and suffering had to stop. there was no other way... since then, this has been his most trusted transformation, but far from the pinnacle of his prowess. this would do just fine for now though. Goku wanted to show this world he wasn't going to take the suffering lying down. this was a test above all else. and when he felt the Anima merge in with his aura, he felt his power level spike. it wasn't too significant considering the fact they were both being hampered, but between the remnants of his godly Ki and her own divine offering, he looked down to one of his hands as lightning trickled along his fingertips. it was so natural to him. so easy]

Thanks, Saori. You're the best. Now...

[if she hadn't done such already, she may have wanted to pull back with him]

KAAA MEEE...

[his arms by his side, the latent power in his body was being focused. his aura was growing wilder and his power level was rising as he briefly chanted. suddenly, it appeared. only this time instead of showing as a simple bluish-white orb of energy, it was complimented by the same blue and white sparks that Saori's Anima provided him with]

HAAA MEEE...!

[now or never. Anima Kamehameha!]

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

[the undying storm, an unrelenting torrent of power, Goku fires the blast directly at the barrier before them. instead of bouncing off or exploding however, the end of the beam flattens against the wall, creating an effect similar to if one was met with a clashing force, as if he was in a clashing beam struggle. it wasn't giving one inch, but Goku continued to put out force as the Kamehameha Wave flowed with lightning around the beam, signs of Saori's strength at work]

AAAAAAAHHHHHH--!!!!

[this continued on for a good minute as Goku pushed and pushed until finally, the attack finally gave way and instead of trying to penetrate, it exploded in front of them. the surrounding area seemed to quiver at the aftershock as smoke filled the immediate area. his vision was lost beneath the smoke for the time being, but he could still sense Saori's energy close to him]

...

[despite the force of the blast, he didn't seem winded at all, only a couple beads of sweat rolling down the Super Saiyan's forehead. it was disappointing, but even he knew that he was weaker now. but still...was it enough? the smoke finally cleared and before them was the barrier, as impervious as ever, but not without effort]

Oh wow. I didn't know if I was gonna do it or not, but I at least expected a crack or something.

[Kami, this man can eat a whole store of food. Reminds him of when Kushina and Naruto can out eat each other of ramen. Minato watches that display with a lopsided smile while he's checking some papers. He really can't help but comment on it.]

That's right. Master Roshi is the founder of it. He's about as wise as he is perverted, but his martial arts skills are astounding! I owe a lot of my victories to his teachings.

[welp! call Goku intrigued. he's not underestimating Iroh, but for the sake of a contest in martial arts, matters such as Super Saiyan would be overkill]

Then, would you be interested in fighting me sometime? Even if it's just a spar. I'm checking out the barrier and getting my ducks in a row first, but training to pass the time works too.

If I can't break down the barrier now, I'll just start training until I'm back to my full strength and try again. I imagine everyone here must miss their homes and their families.

[he says all of this with a completely straight face. and he's thinking about other people that are OUTSIDE of the barrier either. if it was anything like the Big Geti Star, that might have been easier to handle]

Yeah, Vegeta's a friend back on Earth. He's been here for a while, so I imagine you've gotten to know him a little bit yourself.

[Goku...may or may not have taken some and cooked it up. THERE'S MORE DON'T WORRY!]

Hm? There's more back at the grocery store probably. I ran out of the stuff here though. It was good!

Yeah, I've gotten the basics down. But I'm all ears if there's anything else I might be missing.

Where do I start? Hmm... [a lot. a. lot.] Well if I had to give the basics? I can control my ki so that I can fly, fire energy blasts, I can instantly appear wherever I sense someone's energy and... [how to describe transformations. this works!] I can raise my power level and hide my strength depending on the situation.

I gotta admit, there's a lot of things I can do now.

That is quite incredible! I'm not sure I'd be able to compete with that.

[The sparring may be more on the no side of things now]

Hey, that's okay. We can still practice the actual art instead of going all out!
